Sans Carbon is a heavy-weight three-thread fleece knitted from 60% post-industrial recycled cotton and 40% post-consumer recycled polyester. Finished to 350–370 GSM depending on colour and dye lot, the fabric pairs a smooth outer face with a deliberately raised inner nap. The raised back traps air for insulation and a plush hand while the recycled polyester stabilises the pile so the raising remains intact and resists early pilling.
We use the same recycled yarn through face, back and base knit so appearance and hand remain consistent across runs. The three-thread construction delivers warmth without unnecessary weight, quick drying for active wear, and a durable surface that performs well on hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers and other casual garments.
Manufacturing control starts at yarn: we select and compact recycled yarns, knit on three-thread lines, then raise, wash and heat-set the fabric to develop the nap and soften the hand. Tubular dyeing and bio-washing remove residues and ensure even shade penetration; controlled compaction, starching and stenter finishing stabilise width and minimise residual shrinkage. Polyester in the blend improves pile retention and abrasion resistance, so the fleece retains its loft and appearance through repeated use.
Every production lot is laboratory-verified for composition, GSM accuracy, tensile strength, dimensional stability, pilling resistance and colour fastness (wash, rub and light). Commercial terms: 20 kg roll per colour at 42" tubular width; bespoke colours available from ~400 kg per colour with a lead time of 15–25 days. Alternative GSMs, silicon finishes and matching collars/cuffs are available on larger orders. Full test reports and certificates are provided on request by email.
Machine wash only on a gentle cycle with cold to lukewarm water (30–40°C) and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Do not use fabric softeners or chlorine bleach. Tumble dry on low or air dry flat in shade; avoid high heat as it can alter pile height and dimensional stability. Iron on a low setting with a cloth barrier if absolutely necessary; avoid steam on the raised back. Store in a cool, dry place and avoid rough abrasion against harsh surfaces.
