This Varsity Jacket pattern is a relaxed-fit outerwear block engineered for a layered wear profile, not body-hugging. The size chart spans XS–2XL and made while providing controlled ease through chest and shoulders for wearing over a tee or sweatshirt. Standard construction uses a two-fabric shell—commonly a contrast sleeve set into a differently textured or colored body. We recommend fabrics above 300 GSM to maintain structure and drape; when using two fabrics, both should match in GSM and quality to avoid seam drag and distortion.
The neckline, cuffs, and bottom hem use knitted rib. The collar is a knitted style with optional stripe patterns; rib cutting is mapped to maintain recovery and consistent circumference. The front closure employs snap buttons (not sew-through buttons). A fused interlining is applied to the front placket and collar to stabilize hardware, improve snap retention, and hold shape through wear and washing. Assembly is planned around 4-thread overlock for durable seams with lockstitch topstitching where needed for edge control. Snap attachment is executed on dedicated snap machines for uniform compression and alignment.. The pattern is a standard varsity configuration with scope for customizations such as patches, cut-and-sew paneling, and program-specific size tweaks while preserving the base block’s relaxed proportions.
